さて、最近よく思うのは、台湾の男の人ってまっとうにやさしい。
というか、よくいろいろ手伝ってくれる。
Vivi家に行ったときに「ミルクが足りない～！」とViviが言っただけで、
旦那さんがあたりまえのようにすっと買いに行ってくれて、
ほかにも皿を洗ったり掃除をしたりいろいろとこまめに手伝ってくれているので、
ほんとうにこの人はやさしいなあと思っていて、そのことをLに話したところ、
「ていうか、それ普通だよ…」
じーん。何が言いたいかはご想像にお任せするとして。
まあ一概には言えないのだろうけど、台湾の男の人はだいたい自分のことは自分でやるし、
女の人にあれしてこれしてっていうのはあまりなく、
女の人もパートナーにあれしてあげてこれしてあげてっていうのもあまりなく、
（むしろ女の人のがすこし強いかな。男の人は頼まなくてもいろいろしてくれる、やさしい）
互いにindependentでいいなあ、と思うのです。こういうところは見習いたいなあ。
仕事で楽だなあと思うのは、上司に対して秘書的な役目を果たさなくてもいいこと。
日本にいるときはけっこうそういうことに取られる時間が多かったが、
ここでは要求されるのは職務に対してプロフェッショナルであることだけで、
誰も女らしくあれとか、そういう意味での気が利くがどうかなのは関係がないので、
仕事に集中できる。
（周囲がそれを要求するかどうかと、本人が望んで女性らしく
チャーミングでありたいかどうか、は別の問題だが）
すごく今でも思い出すと腹がたつのだが、むかしむかし、私がまだもうちょっと若い頃、
職場の上司にあたるひとが
「今日の打ち合わせはほんとうによくやった、がんばってくれた」と
ねぎらいに食事に連れていってくれた。海外出張先でのこと。
その食事の席で、
「でももうひとつ言うと、もうちょっとかわいらしく仕事できないか？」
と面と向かって言われて、私は怒り心頭、あきれてあきれて、
それは海外だったのだが、そのあと帰国するまで2日間くらい、
仕事で必要な以外は彼と口をきかなかった。
（だからかわいくないって言われるんだけど！）
生意気にみえるとか、私にも問題はあるのだろうが、でも失礼な話だよねえ！
ただ、日本の男の人の90％以上は口には出さないけど、きっとそう思ってる。
と私は確信している。それについてはもうどうもこうもなく、そういうもんだからしょうがない。
と思っているけれど。そこにいるなりの身の処し方があるというか。
けして人に何かしてあげるのがきらいではない、でもこっちへ来てからは
してもらうばっかり。台湾に来て慣れない部分もまだまだあるし、まあ、まあ、
どんどん新しい感覚を開拓していくのはおもしろい。
カレーは2日目がうまいんだといって、そして日本では一度カレーを作ったら
だいたい三食は連続してカレーだよ。と偉そうにいって、Lをカレー攻めにする私。
ただ、気に入ったみたいで、ふだんはお昼を食べない彼が2杯も食べていたのでよかった。
まだカレーあるので、明日はCandaceがターゲットに決定。
20代は自分がこんなに食にコンサバになるとは思ってもみなかったどす。
