滑川。
誰もいない山道を歩いていくと山頂で公園に出た。
披露山公園から、幽かに富士を望む。
ビバリーヒルズという処に往ったことはないけれど、
日本にビバリーヒルズが在るとすれば
田園調布でも芦屋でも千葉リーヒルズでもなく、
小坪三丁目「披露山庭園住宅」だと知った。
崖を、迷路のような階段で下りてゆく。
崩落危険地帯のような場所には、懐かしい安心感を覚える。
生まれ育った町を思い出すからか。
小坪小学校。
この学校には、山の上の庭園住宅で育った子らと
崖のふもとで育った子らが共に通うのだろう。
そんなことを想像しながら。
山村の郷愁をさそう小坪六丁目を通り抜けると
道は
冥府への入口のような小坪随道へと吸い込まれていく。
越の国を抜けた。
空気中の光りの量が微妙に増えた。
傍らには、ささやかな随道殉職者の碑。
すれ違ったくすんだ水色の路線バスは、
とても通れるとは思えない小さなあの随道へと
走っていった。
